Nest y1 problem. The quickest way to eliminate the furnace as the problem is to: Remove the nest thermostat from your wall. I installed a nest thermostat.

In heat pump systems, y1 controls your compressor, which heats and cools your home. Sometimes condensate overflow or low on refrigerant. Checked incoming power to ac unit outside, read 249v.

Then twist together the rh, g, and y1. I installed the new one, and ten minutes. This has been idle a while, but my guess is you need to connect the nest to the r terminal of thermostat 1 on the controller instead of r1.

Let it run for at least 20 minutes. It causes issues with the nest thermostat's operation. On my old thermostat, the yellow wire was connected to the outlet y/y2.

This can take an hour or two. You might have a broken y1 wire i suggest turning off power and picking a different color wiring. This should turn on the ac and fan.

Error e183 nest thermostat (feb 01, 2022) most of the time, this error means that there's an overcurrent on your y1 wire. They sent me a new base. Turn power off to your furnace.

Remove the y1 wire from the base by pressing down on the button next to the connector while gently pulling on the wire. Switch it at the nest thermostat and at the furnace or air handler.if this resolved the issue please rate your experience. Red (rc), power to switch;

If the nest doesn't turn on after installation and the red led is blinking on front, the nest thermostat battery is low and needs to be charged. Replaced fuse on furnace (both furnaces, they weren't blown but thought i'd try anyway) checked all breaker boxes, turned on and off repeatedly; G or g1 controls your hvac.

The technician was able to narrow down the problem to my nest thermostat. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Keeping this in consideration, what is the difference between y1 and y2 on a thermostat?

A voltage of at least 3.7v is required to install a software update. This should not happen now that the unit is getting proper power. Your nest is physically detecting a wire in the y1 connector but isn't detecting any power to it.

If you leave it where it is, the nest will slowly charge and eventually turn on. Made a connection with rh to g to check if fan would come on ; Replace the display back on the base and switch the power back on to see if your nest thermostat unit is getting any power.

Wait for few seconds and check the rh wire status on the nest thermostat display. There's a problem with your system and it may need maintenance for a variety of reasons. Recut and rewired nest completely.

Electrician checked wires and they. I troubleshoot the system and find out the nes. Troubleshoot a nest thermostat overcurrr e error (feb 01, 2022) thermostat shows you an e57 error, you'll need to check the y2 wire.

To check disconnect wires from the nest base. I have four wires connected to my nest: No power to y1 is an indication of a problem with the ac.

About to y1 no wire power nest. We still showed a low battery but the system works. It looks like your control system was designed and wired for a heatpump but you no longer have one (there are only 4 wires on the lower left block which i think is the output to the furnace/ac compressor).

It's the only way i can close out the call. I had a question regarding the wiring. Look for a row of screws labeled r, c i installed a nest without the c wire for the time being.

I am in the middle of installing a nest thermostat. I go out on a no heat call and find a nest thermostat not working correctly and having a fault no power to y1. The nest showed the problem to be the y1 connection but actually it was the red power wire that was not making a good connection.

301 moved the document has moved here. For example, a clogged air filter can cause your system to overheat and automatically shut off. I called nest and they walked me through some diagnostics.

They said my y1 was shorted and constantly sending power out of it. I noticed that my heat pump condensor fan was constantly running when not being called for heat or when the thermostat was off. No power to y1 wire detected.

Click to see full answer. Your nest is physically detecting a wire in the c connector, but isn't detecting any power to it. If i disconnect c, it says no power to y1.

When this happens, your nest thermostat can't draw power from your system to charge its battery. Buy a nest thermostat cheap on amazon with this link: Nest says c wire has no power (was working fine for months).
